Keep Line 5 Open

Workers, families, and communities depend on Line 5, and they’re counting on the Great Lakes Tunnel.

The Tunnel will make a safe pipeline even safer by moving a portion of Line 5 out of the water in the Mackinac Straits, burying it deep below the lakebed. The Tunnel will make the risk of an oil spill in the water virtually zero, it’ll protect the fish and wildlife, and it’ll keep Michigan’s energy affordable.

Disappointingly, the administration is attempting to shut down Line 5, a move that would:

• Kill jobs during a global pandemic,

• Send energy prices soaring,

• Create devastating energy shortages,

• Force 2,100 new heavy trucks onto Michigan highways and city streets each day,

• Fill the air with massive new truck pollution,

• Further devastate the state’s crumbling roads,

• Slash millions in annual tax funding our schools and communities count on, and more.
